This is regarding one of the transactions made by a petrol pump guy on my credit card in the year 2015. By mistake the employee of petrol pump, he made a transaction of Rs 239931.11 in place of Rs. 2399.31.
I got a call from HDFC bank as this transaction was unusal and checked with me to confirm if the transaction made was correct. I mentioned to the customer executive at the same time that this transaction is invalid and please cancel this transaction.
Customer executive told me that she can’t cancel the transaction but she asked me to talk to the petrol pump guy and tell him to revert the transaction.
After that call I spoke to the petrol pump guy and he told me that he don’t know how to revert the transaction, being a holiday on that day he couldn’t search for any help from the bank as well.
On the next Day when I logged in to netbanking I saw that I have been charged for that transaction which I have mentioned as invalid to the customer executive.
Also the charged amount was more than the transaction amount. When I contacted credit card helpline for confirming why I have been charged approx. 6800Rs more than my transaction value i.e. 239921.11. Then he told me that it’s a surcharge that has been charged on the amount.
This I want to bring in to your notice and want to raise that please decline this transaction as twice I mentioned that this transaction is invalid. I shouldn’t be charged for this transaction.
I've provided the letter from the Petrol Pump guy where he has mentioned that the transcation was happened accidentally and HDFC bank Should revert back the same.
But its not 2023 and yet the issue is not resolved and i haven't heard back from the HDFC Bank after 25 Nov 2015 where i have asked the status but not recieved any response from the bank.
Please help me on the same as today HDFC bank Customer executive told me that your Dispute is still showing as open. Was this information helpful? |
