My cheque was returned without clear reasons. Reason provided online: "technical reasons". When i called customer care, it took a long time to get to the concerned representative, but call got cut apparently due to technical glitch on bank side and i did not receive any call back. I had to go through the same cycle of long waits to get to another rep. Explained the story, only to be told that they do not have access to exact reason, but only what is written in the system, according to which the reason was "details unclear". Any extra question asked, customer care always asks me to go to a branch. Come on, this is 21st century banking? Wake up! Just for the record, this is not my first cheque, i have issued several cheques before, and there was no such issue. If there was an issue for one particular cheque, the least i'd expect is for the bank to call me and verify instead of rejecting it straight away without clear reasons for me to take any corrective action. I had to unneccessarily pay extra charges to the vendor due to the cheque bounce issue.
Apart from this, i was trying to make an imps transfer to an indus ind bank account today, but again the transfer did not work. Tried multiple times, and multiple options like rtgs, neft etc. None of them worked. Again, no clear reason provided.in contrast, just logged into my citibank account and did the same transaction and it worked in the first attempt. Was this information helpful? |
