[Resolved] HDFC Bank — transaction done without authentication

Today to my surprise there are debits from my account of almost 7900 rupees for which i have not used my card. It is shown in description as

.. What the hell is this transaction in my account. I want to know the details in priority and give back my amount to me.. This is not fair for a bank to debit such kind of amount. I want my money to be recovered as soon as possible.

Updated by dinesh nvn I have share my bank statement where my account has been debited..I have neither received any sms on my debit nor I have used my card anywhere..please return my money back.

HDFC Bank Customer Care's response Dear Customer,

There is a currency conversion markup of 3.5 % on foreign currency transactions carried out on debit cards as Transaction amount + Difference in foreign currency Rate (Its the difference in foreign currency rate on the date of the transaction and on the date of settlement {Receipt of claim from acquiring bank}). Charges are applicable for ATM withdrawals and also for POS transaction. The exchange rate used will be the Visa/MasterCard wholesale exchange rate prevailing at the time of the transaction.
