HDFC Bank — Wrongful Markation of Lien, No Redressal, Transferred Funds without Consent

Summary of events: 1. HDFC first wrongly linked my account with some credit card that I NEVER TOOK and marked a lien of 71k or so, without ANY contact to me EVER regarding the outstanding card. 2. I called up customer service and they said they can't do anything about it as the lien has been marked by the credit card division, and that i need to write to them via email. 3. I marked a mail elaborating the issue requesting your team for a resolution, and received a response the following day, which contained 2 contact numbers. But, not to my surprise, NEITHER OF THE NUMBERS WORK. 4. I marked another email stating the numbers arent working and requesting a call back, which also NEVER happened. 5. Validating the sheer incompetence of HDFC as a financial services providers, you then stole the money in my account (WITHOUT an NOC or CALL or EMAIL or STANDING INSTRUCTION!). 6. Today, I received another email wherein the person has asked for my contact number!!! 1 - I had already shared it in my last emails, so the person clearly didn't even have the competence to read an email, and 2 - the bank already has all my details. Have shared the number again, nonetheless. I have already shared all my documents THAT CLEARLY VALIDATE the person accountable for the card is NOT ME, with all possible email IDs shared with me as well as the ones I could find online. To begin with, I cannot have two date of births! According to HDFC customer service, the card holder registered with HDFC has a 'DIFFERENT DATE OF BIRTH' and DIFFERENT ADDRESS. Though the latter is a changeable element, I SURE CAN'T CHANGE MY "DATE OF BIRTH"! Yet, HDFC not only did not even bother to contact me regarding the outstanding fraudulent card (neither before marking lien nor before illegally transferring funds "without" my consent! Intensifying the issue caused by HDFC, I had met with a mishap just a day before you wrongly abducted the ONLY 37K or so I had to my aid. Just to let you know, I've been on my own since my parents' demise about 10 years ago, and right now, I am in deep trouble; all thanks of you people. CURRENT SCENARIO: According to Metro Hospital Noida (ID No: [protected]), as well as Noida Orthopedic Center, I have sustained an internal knee injury (medial meniscus tear), and may need surgery (scans of all consultations attached). Thanks to you people, now, not only I am in no position to finance the treatment, but also had to "arrange" 6K, to be able to pay for the MRI and the ride to the imaging center (scan attached); as based on the MRI, the doctors will decide whether the injury needs a surgery or will self-heal. Regardless - as I have REPEATEDLY STATED in emails, as well as to your customer service agents who are any case nothing more than software programs with little to no artificial intelligence - for the last time: I NEVER TOOK ANY CREDIT CARD FROM "ANY" BANK, LET ALONE HDFC’s. Kindly look into the matter and remove the lien from my account, so that I may attempt to reconstruct my life back to normalcy, as I am already on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I had lost my job last month, so the money you have wrongfully abducted was essentially the only financial support I had until I find a new one, which now I CANNOT AS I CAN BARELY WALK and neither have the money to buy myself a treatment! If I am prescribed surgery - which you know I am in NO POSITION TO FINANCE - I will have no option but to request redressal from the concerned banking ombudsman, or probably consumer court or human rights cell, as of course, I can't let my leg rot due to "your" incompetence. Technically, now HDFC owes me a decent compensation for loss of time and the mental anguish that I am going through. Probably you don't realize, but your pathetic acts do serious damage to real people. STOP ROBBING PEOPLE Account number: [protected] Amount transferred: 37, 882 (screenshot attached) Card number wrongly associated with my account: [protected] (as communicated by HDFC customer care) What you people have done is heinously wrong, unethical, and SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE by all conceivable standards, and I will certainly go legal about this If immediate action isn't taken; or probably my friends will, if i hang myself due to the agony you people have caused. If I lose my leg, you'd surely have a MUCH LARGER reason to worry about. Attached with this email, are scans of: 1- My PAN card 2- My address proof 3- Medical document from Metro Hospital 4- Medical document from Noida Orthopedic Center 5- Bill of MRI scan Besides, EVEN IF I WAS A DEFAULTER, HDFC DID NOT FOLLOW ANY OF THE GUIDELINES PRESCRIBED BY RBI'S FAIR PRACTICES CODES. As I simply cannot go by another day without the funds i had, would request you to look into the matter and provide an immediate resolution. If not, I will have no other option but to RBI Ombudsman or Human Rights Commission or National Commission for Women, or probably all. Gagnika
