I have purchased hitachi 1.2 ton ac from rathna fan house, chennai last year. The warranty period expired in aug 2020 and one more free service is yet to be availed. Due to covid lock down, i hesitated to book free service and also i have not received any reminder for booking. When i called consumer care for free service they told that i cannot avail this post warranty period. When cost for free service is collected upfront as part of the product cost, is it not the duty of the company to reminder the consumer and alert of expiring. Purchase date : 17th aug 2019.
