We are senior citizens and booked 3 rooms for three nights through goibibo, 23 jan 26 Jan 2026 at Xylem Sea side resort (Puri, Orissa)through goibibo and paid 100 % advance a month ago.
Then we reached at the resort for Check In, the manager denied check in and said goibibo has overbooked and no room is available.
I called goibibo customer care and she suggested two alternatives which again were of very poor standard. Then we proposed that there are three rooms available for three nights at La Platina and asked her to book the same as replacement. she asked us to hold. I did hold for over 30 minutes and then call was disconnected. I tried several times to call again at your customer care but call was not getting connected.
Almost over one and a half hour was wasted in this. We were so tired after over 24 hours journey all the way from Udaipur (Raj). So we hired taxi and started door to door search of hotel as because of three days holidays and saptami, whole Puri hotels were packed. We also went to La platina but he said rooms just occupied now. In return goibibo just provided a travel voucher of Rs 1500 for future booking. When I said to customer care that equivalent amount coupons you already provide for a new hotel booking, they said compnay can't help. So, guys do not book through goibibo. They are not trustworthy.
