This is in connection with the fraudulent transactions in the savings bank account of my wife, indrani chakravorty. On 8th may '2018, my wife got a call from a mobile number[protected] posing to be from airtel to uograde the sim of the registered mobile no [protected] to 4g.in the process the mobile network got blocked and swapped by the fraudster. On 9th may suspecting the above incident being a potential fraud, we reported the case to the concerned icici bank branch in vikaspuri. It was given to understand that no fraudulent transaction had happened till that time. We, however, instructed the banker to deactivate all internet banking facility and registered mobile number linked with the account no[protected]. Also, we immediately got a new sim activated from airtel against the number to prevent the fraudster can not do any damage. But on 18th may when i got the account reactivated and checked the account statement, it was revealed that on 10th may "2018 fraudulent transactions amounting to rs 1 (One) lakh has happened through upi inspite of my instruction to the banker on 9th may'2018. No sms or email got generated for the above transactions. I have lodged a fir with local police station (Complaint reference number: [protected], 20/05/2018) and to the customer care of icici bank (Service request : sr[protected] as required by the banker, i have provided a copy of the fir and front side of tge debit card for processing the investigation.. The subject savings bank account is credited with rs 1000, 00 (One lac) but that is kept in frozen state and can not be opearated till the investigation is complete. There is also dilly dallyiong attitude from the customer service and the officials of the concerned branch which has led to further harassment it is pertinent to mention that this incident has happened due to sheer negligence of the banker inspite of reporting such potential fraud well in advance. The hard earned money of my wife, a school teacher by profession, should be refunded back immediately or else i will have no other option then to seek legal advise against the harassment for no fault on our part.
