A bunch of thieves who talk like icici bank executives try to use your credit card details to make online transactions. They first attract you by saying you have reward points that you need to redeem/encash and ask for some bank information without which they cannot help redeem/encash rewards to your account.
At first, the call sounds genuine..
I received a call from one such number just half an hour back, and am shocked that i was just a few clicks away from being swindled of money from my account. Thankfully, good sense prevailed and i released i was being fooled.
They will ask for your credit card number, csv number (3 digit number) in the back of your card and otp details if you get any sms - they will use your credit card number and csv to make the purchase. If you give them your otp number, they can successfully complete the transaction and buy what they want with your money.

I got a call from the following numbers, so beware:

A girl called khushi mishra called first, and then she transferred the call to her manager, a senior verification officer (It seems.. Huh!).
When confronted by asking for their bonafides, they didn't respond. When told that a police complaint will be lodged, they disconnected the call and the number was not reachable soon after. Both callers spoke good hindi and english. They had a distinct north indian accent.
I got this call last week and week before that and now another one today. I thought it was high time i bring it to the notice of icici bank.
