Respected Sir/Madam,
I had availed a ICICI Bank Consumer Finance Loan / Cardless EMI with Loan Account number: LCFBNG[protected] loan amount:Rs.47704.50/-. I had availed this loan towards payment of my son's school fees via internet banking. I had availed this loan on 1st June 2022 and the payment was successful. I had got a message from ICICI bank just to thank for availing the EMI option and no further communication from ICICI bank regarding loan amount released to the school. The transaction was happened via gateway Razorpay.
On 3rd June 2022 I get a mail from Razorpay telling that the amount has been refunded and the refund receipts had also been shared. I thought that as the amount has been refunded and no communication from the ICICI bank, the loan account has been cancelled. Hence as 10th was the last day to pay school fees I paid the fees via a different mode.
On 1st July 2022 I was shocked to receive a letter from ICICI bank stating that my first EMI [amount: Rs.16315/-] is due on 3rd July 2022. Only now I got to know that still the Loan account is active. I immediately called the school to confirm whether there is a double payment, they told that from my side there is only one transaction which was done on 10th June 2022. So I immediately hurried to the near by ICICI Sarakki branch and met the Deputy General Manager, he told me that the loan account is still active and he gave me the loan account statement. The loan statement has all my loan amount, EMI details and my ICICI bank account details, ROI etc. but no where the beneficiary/merchant has been mentioned. I had been to Razorpay office and raised a dispute ticket, they responded back and provided me with all the receipts/details [payment ID, refund ID, ARN number, RRN number etc] and they told me to contact the bank for further details as the refund has been initiated on 3rd June 2022.
As the Bank Manager whom I contacted previously was on sick leave I had no one in person to contact in the bank, so I called the bank customer care several times and raised complaints by writing mails to [protected]@icicibank.com, they did not give me any positive solution regarding the issue and kept on telling that they have not received any refund and the loan is still active.
Later after a week I met the bank manager and told that Razorpay has insisted me to file a chargeback, he immediately wrote a mail to the concerned dept. and explained the issue, and for the same we got a reply telling that the merchant has to raise a cancellation request so that they can cancel the loan and do the needful.
Now I go to the school and they tell me that how can they raise a cancellation request as the amount has already been refunded and they acknowledge the same with the receipt.
Meanwhile the first EMI has already been debited from my ICICI bank account on 3rd July 2022.
Hence its been 1.5 months and still I am facing the problem, according to the bank the loan amount has been transferred and the school has refunded the amount, but still the loan is active and first EMI is auto debited from my account. Finally I still dont know where is the loan amount and who is the actual beneficiary/merchant.
Requesting you to take appropriate action on the issue and please do the needful.
