[Resolved]  Icici Lombard — heavy loading of renewal premium of mediclaim insurance.

I am having ICICI lombard health insurance policy (Family floater plan) for my parents & i am renewing this policy since last 7 years. My policy no is 4034i/FFH/76052651/00/000. This policy is due on 13th December 2013. I was waiting for the renewal notice / online renewal link from ICICI lomabard on my online portal (which is created on their website) but ICICI didnt forward me any renewal notice till last date. Then i have to call then 2-3 times & to speak with their customer service for around half an hour to get renewal notice to renew my policy. On 18th December i got the renewal notice from ICICI dated 9th October 2013 which i never received before. Even when i registered complaint in their customer service, they are also not aware about it. I saw the premium and found shocked as ICICI has increased the premium by more than double of my last year. I got a renewal notice with premium amount of Rs. 42597 against a coverage of 3 Lakhs for my parents. Details of my previous premiums are as below: 1) Dec 2012 - Dec 2013 : 16485/- 2) Dec 2011 - Dec 2012 : 16183/- 3) Dec 2010 - Dec 2011 : 12841/- 4) Dec 2009 - Dec 2010 : 12841/- 5) Dec 2008 - Dec 2009 : 13067/- 6) Dec 2007 - Dec 2008 : 12413/- 7) Dec 2006 - Dec 2007 : 13713/- When i complained about increase of premium to their customer service, they informed me that their existing product is replaced with their new product with new features. That is the reason, there is revision in premium also. New features are as below: covering of PED after 1 year, regular medical check ups, no claim loading etc. I would like to inform you that i am already getting all these benefits with my existing policy as i am having this policy since last 7 years. So this new product is not helping me in any ways but only increasing my trouble with heavy premium. As a middle class person, i am not able to afford such a high premium every year. I request Akosha team to look into the matter and do the needful. Looking forward for a favourable reply. Manish Surve.
