ICICI Prudential Life Insurance — policy payment has gone to wrong bank account | |
I have been a resident in the united kingdom for past 50 years. Recently i chose to surrender one of my policies, number 19202721, held with yourself and subsequently submitted all the relevant documents such as copies my passport and cheque book to the relevant department as requested, on the 15th june 2020. Upon enquiring on the progress of the matter and also to confirm that the documents i had provided were correct, i was shocked to receive your email on the 2nd july 2020 informing me that the surrendered value amount, 19536321.11 lakhs rupees, had already been transferred to one of my bank accounts. I would like to point out that i was neither asked to provide the account details to which the money should be transferred, nor did i authorise the transfer to be made to this account. I have made 6 premium payments worth of 24 lakhs rupees via my nre account and therefore the policy was processed under nre status. I find this extremely unacceptable and frustrating and i ask that you resolve this matter immediately. I presume that the most sensible solution is for the funds in question to be transferred to you and for you then to transfer them to an account which i have authorised. Please advise on how this should be affected. Please note my uk mobile number is[protected].
