I was gifted an IFB microwave as a wedding present. As per the warranty all 'parts'of the microwave are covered under warranty. The glass turntable of my microwave cracked while baking during the second use itself. It broke wile it was in the machine itself. I made a complaint to the service number and was allotted a ticket number. No technician visited and checked but i was told that the glass turntable is not covered under warranty - it is not mentioned anywhere in the warranty terms that glass turntable is not covered. In addition, it is not the case that the glass broke due to human touch, it broke while baking - which means i was given a defective piece to begin with. I lodged my first complaint on 11/02/2016 and it was closed without any intimation. When I called the second time, they said it was because i declined to pay. I asked them to give in writing that i will have to pay for the turntable, which also they declined and closed the complaint without due process. Anyway they again raised a second ticket number whihc also i have mentioned above - the tecnician did visit, but did not answer any of my questions and asked me to speak to the company service centre. On Mr. Arun calls me and tells me again that the glass turntable is not covered under warranty and i asked him again to give it to me in writing which he said he would. I have been waiting for more than a month and have undergone a lot of stress due to this unprofessional and unethical behaviour of the service centre staff.. Why this kind of confusion is being created - you just need to include the limitations of the warranty in the warranty and not claim later that the particular item isnt covered under warranty - that is breach of trust. I request you to kindly get my glass turntable replace asap as per the warranty terms. Otherwise I want a written intimation that the glass turntable is not covered under warranty.
Please take this issue seriously.
