I made the purchase from united states with help of my friend on indiacakes.com website to order a cake online for delivery to my home address. It's been a while i have made any purchase in india and it totally shook me the customer service they provide.
After when i made the purchase, i realized that i have made a incorrect item. I was suppose to purchase an eggless pineapple cake instead i ordered an pineapple cake with egg.
Within no time, i realized it and i sent them an email explaining the same. As i said, i was not sure, if they would act promptly or not and hence i sent couple of emails explaining the cake to be eggless.
Since the delivery date was next day of the order date, i did not have much time and as i have not heard back from them, i have called them to verify on the same. They have sent me an email with another additional 200 rupees extra charge for delivery stating that they would not ship to that address. They also charged me 100 rupees for changing my order from eggless cake while the difference of the price on their website for egg and eggless cake is only 50 rupees.

As i was new to the customer service experience in india, i have asked them couple of questions for which i really got weird from the representative who was talking to me and indecent, disrespectable yelling from another representative beside shouting advising that we would not delivery me any cake. So now, in total i have paid 795 rupees for the half kg cake which was mentioned in the website as 495 rupees.
I have some key points i would like to mention:
1) the website did not have the clear pricing information. They change according to their norms stating they are their policies.
2) the website charges additional price for the time of the delivery but there are no clear instructions mentioned that there would be additional charges for place of delivery as well. They tell you the amount only after you make the purchase.
3) after you make the purchase, even if the delivery charge is something that is not accommodating in customer budget, then the customer has no choice to cancel the order. They give you a choice to either take a coupon which is eligible to use for their website only or no refund at all.

4) the representative mentioned that their website is still in process of building some more features, yet they still make the customer liable to additional charges and risks upon when asked about the charges that are based off delivery place.

5) there are several websites which clearly mention that if they are unable to deliver the cake to any destination, they would simply not accept the order. But that did not happen on www.indiacakes.com website. They accepted my order and make me pay more later again with no choice to refund my money back to my account.

6) they do not have a cancellation policy on their website. They have several of such policies which are looting customer's money. Because their website is not upgraded, i did reach out to them for adjustment within no time via email but none of that was taken into consideration. They still charged me 100 rupees for the adjustment of the cake.

7) the customer service representative was yelling from beside over the phone that she would not deliver me any cake because she felt i was asking too many questions. I only asked for the service i paid for, she behaved rudely yelling around as if she was doing a favor on me

8) the company do not have a review page to lodge a review. If i am not wrong, there could be number of people who have been charged extra instead of what was displayed on their website. Reviews could help others to be aware of the scamming website but does not seem they want to want encourage any of that.

9) the website lacks trust of relationship between consumer and client. They add additional charges according to their norms in name of policies. They do not have a standardized procedures or cancellation policies.
10) email conversations sent after making the order is not at all taken into consideration by indiacakes.com. Within no time, they have charged me 100 rupees stating their offline prices of cakes are different to what they are available on the website, however point to be noted that my emails for change of order was not taken into consideration to provide me the online price which was only 50 rupees. But, they have charged me 100 rupees for that.
11) i kind of feel being cheated by indiacakes.com who have advertised the price of cake as 495 rupees while on the back door they have made me pay 795 rupees. I was happy to pay upfront if the cake is 1000 rupees, which is when i as a customer will have a choice to opt to make an order or not. But this is unacceptable and exploiting nature which cannot be encouraged.

They need to maintain acceptable standards and update their website properly.in the name of policies, making the customer accountable is totally ridiculous.

They are now not ready to refund me also.
