Indian Oil Corporation [IOC] — re. unauthorised visit of mechanic under the cover of period of maintenance

One week back a person visited our house (In my absence) informing he is coming from shree chella gas agency, seliayur (Who is our gas supply agency) and insisted that he want to inspect the gas connection, when the elders at home asked for i. D card or any notification paper from him, he used hard words and insisted that they should believe and allow him to inspect the gas stove and pay rs.175/-. The eleders at home, without knowing who this is as well whether it is mandatory requirement,. Strongly refused to let him inside the house.

We request the concerned the authorities to take necessary steps
To instruct the agency to send a notice/letter to the customer/s well in advance stating the particular day or between particular periods the authorized mechanic, along with the copy of the letter send to the customer and id as well, will come and inspect the gas connection thereby we can allow the mechanic to do his duty.

A copy of this email will be sent to the company and agency for their reference.

Updated by Ramanuja Dasan when i have today contacted the gas agency, they carelessly inform that no ID card will be provided to the mechanic when he accompanies delivery boy. ( can a delivery boy bring any of his friends under the cover of periodic gas stove check up without proper ID card???) if this is the answer, where to demand security for the people who are in the house?? in the absence of Notification, sms or email communication from the LPG supplier on any of their action - even if it is mandatory the public shall not entertain to allow the person without ID card as it is risky
