Had made a Google play recharge of Rs 5000 via PayTM. The recharge was not successful, however, the money was debited from my IOB account. Upon further inquiry with paytm, they assured me that the money would he refunded by 7-10 days tops. I did not receive any refund.
After subsequent communication with PayTM, they generated a refund reference number as proof and showed that they had transferred the money to IOB and it was now up to IOB to transfer that to my account. I have the conversations with their support personnel as well as the RRN as proof.
It's been more than a month, I still haven't received the refund. Any attempts to communicate or contact IOB, either by call, email or even Twitter has been an utter failure. Even visiting the branch at which I bank has been a failure as they have been continuously turning me away saying no such money is with them and they don't know what I'm talking about.
It is imperative to note that this is the second time I have faced this exact same issue with Indian overseas bank. Last time the amount was Rs 13, 000 and only after continuous heckling did I receive my refund.
Their service is appalling. Their urgent attention in this matter is solicited.
