Dear Sir/madam,
This is to bring to your attention that a train departing from Howrah (source station) to Yesvantpur (Destination ends) was scheduled to leave Howrah today at 10:50 AM (scheduled time).
Unfortunately the passengers were informed Via text message on phone (a day prior @17:08 PM and 18:02 PM) that the train was cancelled (Attached screenshot).
Monday, (next day) morning at 8:35 AM, passengers received a text message that the train will depart but 2 hours delay from the standard scheduled time (screenshot attached). All tickets attached.
Please explain how a passenger staying in Raniganj can board a train if they receive a message on Monday morning that the train will depart with 2 hours delay. Is it practically possible for Raniganj passengers to travel all the way from Raniganj to Howrah and then be able to board the train? We had connecting appointments with the doctor in Bangalore, son to join the office from Wednesday, etc. and all of this was jeopardized because of indiscipline behavior of railway. Now that we had a hospital visit and other important things to address we booked flight tickets immediately on Sunday and now see that the train will also depart. This is such a disrespectful service to the railway towards their passengers.
I would ask the railway officials to return my ticket money paid in full since the train was cancelled. It’s the unscheduled and negligence of the railway for not managing things well, and due to their poor and weak weather and other source foresight that they failed to take right action at the right time leading to confusion and now asking passengers to take the burn. I at least want my money back citing the reason for the lead time of travel from Raniganj to Howrah which is impossible (with the state of mind railway has put in a day prior, cancelling the train) and request to refund my money. I am not asking for any compensation for the damage done but just the money paid in Actuals for the ticket.
