Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation [IRCTC] — Provision of wrong/misleading information at ndls ticket reservation/cancellation/ enquiry counter | |||||
Dear sir, I had booked one reservation pnr number[protected] counter ticket number 56008224 to travel by 12452 shramshakti express from ndls to cnb on 20/2/17 with family. On 20/2/17 there was a train accident/ derailment near tundla junction. On 20/2/17 when i reached ndls railway station to start my journey by 12452 at around 11:30 pm, my train was delayed / rescheduled to start at 4 am/6 am. Being greatly perturbed due to this delay i tried to cancel my above reservation ticket at ndls railway station when i reached ndls central enquiry counter at platform number 1 to cancel and get new current reservation in any other train i was advised to contact window number 865 - current reservation window it was closed. When i again contacted central enquiry window i was informed that all the reservation counters will remain closed in between 11:20 pm to 00:20 am also i was advised to cancel my reserved ticket either through 139 or from the original reservation counter at cnb. Based on this advice i decided to travel by 12560 shiv ganga express to cnb which was ready to depart at around 00:15 am from pf number 12/13 at ndls in general class. While travelling in 12560 in gs class as i could not got current reservation i contacted 139 where in i was informed that reservation ticket cancellation through 139 for counter reservation ticket can only be done if train no. 12452 was delayed by less than 3 hours and was again adviced to contact original ticket counter at cnb for cancellation. On reaching cnb at around 8:30 am -21/2/17 i contacted original reservation ticket counter by filling reservation cancellation form with token number 0058 - time 08:44 am i was told that i have been misguided/given wrong information at ndls because this ticket was to be cancelled at ndls only. I was in great trouble and contacted crs/deputy ss commercial but got no relief then i met ctm ncr cnb who helped me to deposit my reserved ticket for tdr at 1:30 pm 21/2/17. You are requested to make an enquiry in the matter and take appropriate strong action in this matter as i along with my family had faced great trouble due to this wrong information.
