As per rules prescribed by IRCTC for Cancellation Charges for Wait List Tickets Dropped from Charting:
In case of wait-listed e-tickets on which all the passengers are on waiting list even after preparation of reservation chart, names of all such passengers booked on that Passenger Name Record (PNR) will be dropped from the reservation chart and refund of full fare will be credited back to the account from which booking transaction took place, without
deducting any cancellation charges.
4 of my my tickets were waitlisted even after chart preparation. As per the above mentioned rule, Is should've got full refund without any deduction of cancellation charges.
However cancellation charge of Rs. 60 per ticket was deducted from the refund totalling Rs 240 for 4 waitlisted tickets.
Even after communicating this grievance to IRCTC I didn't receive any to the point response.
IRCTC is liable to pay the remaining amount of Rs. 240 for which I am raising this complaint
(Note : I had cancelled one ticket myself on a prior date for which the cancellation charge is justified. SS attached)
