[Resolved]  Jet Airways — Damage to property

Hi, I traveled from Dehradun to Mumbai on 28 December 2014 with my one year old son. My detailed itinerary is set forth below. Passengers:1. Parul Thaplyal 2. Aarjav Thaplyal (Infant) Ticket number: [protected] and [protected] Flights: (i) 9W 823 from Dehradun (DED) to New Delhi (DEL) departed at 16.20 hrs; and (ii) 9W 352 from New Delhi (DEL) to Mumbai (BOM) departed at 19.20 hrs.We landed at the Mumbai airport on 28 December 2014 at around 21.30 hrs at Terminal 1B and thereafter I went to collect my checked in baggage from the belts at the arrival terminal. I had checked in one bag and a pram/stroller. While I was able to collect my bag, however, after a prolonged wait at the terminal I did not see the pram/ stroller. To my surprise I saw one of the Jet Airways handlers taking our stroller to another place. I identified the stroller and confronted the handler and told him that I was the owner of that stroller. At that point, I was shocked to see that the stroller had been completely damaged. I immediately raised a complaint however, it took me nearly an hour to register a complaint at the airport. All this while, I had a one year old baby with me. I could not even leave the airport terminal as that would have made it impossible for me to register a complaint. It was highly inconvenient for me and my child to have to handle such callous behavior from the airline staff and from Jet Airways for damaging an expensive item. The complaint finally got registered and I was able to leave the airport finally by 11 PM or so. The receipt no is BOM9W43517 .The stroller is from a premium brand for baby products Mothercare. The model is Mothercare Urbanite Stroller and is currently retailing at Rs 19, 999. We also purchased the product at the same price less than a year back. I was informed that Jet Airways will revert to me within 48 hours but that has not happened. I called the customer care and was told that I will get a response soon but that too hasn't happened so far! Therefore, I am writing this complaint and seek the following compensation:(i) A replacement of the Mothercare Urbanite Stroller; or(ii) Cash compensation of Rs 19, 999.The above is without prejudice to my rights under applicable law.
