Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to file a formal complaint against Jio Fiber, a subsidiary of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, regarding their misleading advertising and the imposition of a limited data plan without proper disclosure. I have been a customer of Jio Fiber for one month, and I subscribed to their Unlimited Data @300 Mbps plan, expecting to receive unrestricted, high-speed internet service.
According to the advertisements and promotional material provided by Jio Fiber, their plan explicitly stated "Unlimited Data." Nowhere in their documentation or website did they mention any limits or restrictions on the usage of data. I made my decision to subscribe to their service based on this assurance o[censored]nlimited data, which was clearly conveyed in their marketing materials.
To my dismay, after using a certain amount of data, my internet connection was abruptly cut off. Confused and frustrated, I immediately contacted Jio Fiber's customer support to seek clarification. I was informed that there is, in fact, a hidden data cap of 3300GB per month on the plan I had subscribed to. I was shocked to learn about this undisclosed limitation, as it directly contradicted the "Unlimited Data" claim that had been advertised so prominently.
I believe that Jio Fiber's actions are deceptive, misleading, and in violation of consumer protection laws. By failing to disclose the true nature of their data plan and misrepresenting it as unlimited, Jio Fiber has misled me and numerous other customers who have fallen victim to this deceptive practice.
I have made repeated attempts to resolve this matter directly with Jio Fiber's customer support, but they have been uncooperative and unsympathetic to my concerns. Therefore, I kindly request the intervention of the Consumer Court to address this issue and seek a fair resolution.
I request the following actions to be taken:
1. Investigate Jio Fiber's misleading advertising and lack of disclosure regarding the data cap on their Unlimited Data @300 Mbps plan.
2. Hold Jio Fiber accountable for its deceptive practices, which have caused financial loss, inconvenience, and mental anguish to customers.
3. Direct Jio Fiber to amend their advertising and promotional material to clearly state any limitations or restrictions on their data plans.
4. Ensure that Jio Fiber provides appropriate compensation to affected customers who were misled by their false claims o[censored]nlimited data.
5. Impose suitable penalties on Jio Fiber for its unfair and deceptive business practices.
Enclosed with this letter are copies of my Jio Fiber subscription documents, invoices, and any other relevant evidence to support my complaint.
I kindly request the Consumer Court to treat this matter with utmost urgency and take appropriate action against Jio Fiber. I trust that the court will uphold consumer rights and ensure that companies like Jio Fiber are held accountable for their actions.
