The procedures of this bank are onerous and cumbrous. For instance if one forgets his cheque book and wishes to withdraw money one has to provide a proof of identity even when one is personally known to the personnel there
My pan and aadhar cards are in variants of my actual name. They have however been legally linked as well as linked in the records of the bank. And yet when called upon to have both the variants of my name reflected in my account, i am asked to wait until the “process” is approved.
The procedures are unreasonable, arbitrary, contrary to standard practice and are beyond the dictates of the reserve bank and the government. It is a case of being more “popish than the pope”. Even the process of lodging grievances (Not complaints, mind you) are cumbersome and one has to wait 7 full days for a response, in this age when time is at a premium. . The supervisor – there was no manager at the time - of their margao, goa branch was discourteous and pedantic. She declined to accept my aadhar card downloaded from the internet on that it was an ecard. There is nothing like an ecard in aadhar.
