[Resolved]  Kotak Mahindra Bank — Submitted request for Cancellation of Credit card; which was not done and additional charges are being levied

On 17th December 2021, I had contacted customer care for the cancellation of my credit card and subsequent release of my FD associated with it. Had made all the credit card payments before requesting for cancellation. The customer care representative assured us that the request will be submitted the same day and that the FD will be released within 4 working days. However, on 20th December, the statement shows INR 334 outstanding to be paid. On 24th, when contacted the customer care representative, he said that the request for cancellation of the card wasn't submitted and that I have to pay the outstanding amount to cancel the same. It was clearly mentioned on the 17th to cancel the card and logically if any payment outstanding after that is not liable to be paid by me. KINDLY RELEASE THE FD AT THE EARLIEST. We do have the phone call record of both the conversations made.

This is precisely what is happening to me - see my latest thread on this. Kotak is nothing if not a "scam" bank. https://www.consumercomplaints.in/kotak-mahindra-bank-kotak-cancels-credit-cards... - in all my years of banking with so many banks, I've never encountered such callous, rude, uncaring - and downright pathetic service. They just ignore everything you send them until you open these long complaints with the authorities. Just a horrible bank in general, please avoid.
