I am a resident of Karma Road, Ambedkar Nagar, Ward No. 7, Near S.S Resort, Aurangabad, Bihar – 824101.
On 23 May 2026, an LG split air conditioner was installed at my neighbour's residence by an authorized LG technician. During the installation, the outdoor unit was positioned directly opposite my residential bedroom window at a distance of approximately 5 feet, despite there appearing to be sufficient space for installation at a higher or different location.
Whenever the AC operates, the outdoor unit discharges hot exhaust air directly towards my bedroom window. The hot air enters my room, increasing the room temperature and causing continuous discomfort. This has adversely affected the normal use, ventilation, and peaceful enjoyment of my bedroom.
I was not present during the installation. Subsequently, my neighbour informed me that he had requested the technician to install the outdoor unit at a higher position so that it would not directly face my bedroom window. According to him, the technician declined, stating that there was no facility to install it higher. However, from the present site conditions, it appears that sufficient space and the necessary access for a higher installation were available.
After discovering the issue, I immediately registered Complaint No. RNP[protected] with LG Customer Care. When no satisfactory action was taken, I successively escalated the matter to the LG MD Escalation Team and thereafter to the LG CEO Office. The complaint was subsequently assigned to company officials for resolution. Despite repeated discussions and follow-ups, no effective site inspection has been conducted and no practical corrective action has been taken.
During my interactions, I was informed that the company has no role in the matter and that charges would be payable for shifting the outdoor unit. I respectfully disagree. Since the installation was carried out by an authorized LG technician, I believe the company has a responsibility to inspect whether the installation was technically appropriate. As I am neither the purchaser nor the owner of the AC, I cannot reasonably be asked to bear the cost of correcting another person's installation.
In my view, this matter can still be resolved amicably through a proper site inspection. After inspecting the installation, the company representative can explain the inconvenience caused by the present placement and encourage the customer to consider repositioning the outdoor unit or redirecting the airflow.
Despite exhausting LG's internal grievance mechanism, the issue remains unresolved. I have therefore been compelled to approach this consumer grievance platform.
