Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation [MSRTC] — senior citizen concession

Address: Mumbai, Maharashtra, Mumbai City, Maharashtra

Dear sir,

Myself being senior citizen, supposed to get 50% concession during travel by "shivshahi" state transport bus (As per state government's claim/notification) running between mumbai-pune, mumbai - kolhapur routs.

Yesterday i with my friend, both senior citizen, got in shivshahi bus (Kolhapur-mumbai central) at "bhujbal chouk" hinjavadi bridge,

My friend had adhaar card with him but i didn't have it. Since i have already registered myself at "digilocker" i was sure, i won't have any problem getting concession as a senior citizen.

The conductor of the bus, however refused to accept "digilocker" as a proof of identity and charged me full for journey ticket. (Without concession)

He said that he is not aware of such government app. & no instructions have been given to him (As a conductor) by st authorities to accept "digilocker" as a proof of identity.

Government has declared so many concessions to senior citizen (Having adhaar card as a proof of age)

Our government has come out with an app. Called "digilocker" which keeps all documents issued to an indian citizen within this "digilocker" app.

Government claim that documents available within this app, will be treated as originals by various government institutions/authorities and person need not carry original documents like adhaar card, driving lisence, pan card etc.

Government is encouraging indian citizen to make use of this app but what is the use of it without your proper instructions to your bus conductors to accept it as originals, while issuing tickets on concession for senior citizens.

Don't you think you are robbing the senior citizen like me of concessions (50% on ticket charges) by not accepting "digilocker" as original documents?

Expecting proper action from your end at the earliest.

Dinesh turme.

Yesterday 30th May 22 I was standing in queue for nearly two hours at the Kopat depot in Thane for obtaining the smart card. However the clerk refused to issue me the card as in my Adhar card the address was showing as Tamilnadu although OTP was received in my mobile. Actually I am a resident of Maharashtra, staying Mulund. They had wanted all those wishing to get the card to have Original Adhar card and alo Original election card or Driving licence or original Passport. I had my driving licence with Mulund address. My original Adhar card was issued in Mulund and the address was of Mulund. But when I had gone to Tamilnadu they refused to accept my Adhar card and I was made to change my address in Adhar card to one of Tamilnadu. This I have already complained to UIDAI but no action is taken so far. I couldn't meet the depot incharge also as no one was available. Another problem that I noticed was many people were sent back saying that they must get the mobile number linked to Adhar. A old couple have been visiting the depot for more than three times and in spite of the male getting the OTP the clerk was refusing to issue the card. I interviened and pointed to the clerk that many people in a family use a single mobile number for Adhar and hence the wife had got her Smart card the system was not accepting the same mobile number again. When another number, not linked to Adhar card was entered the system sent a OTP request and accepted the same.
This clearly shows how our government departments work by not giving proper directions to its staff and harrassing the common people.
I hope through this coloum atleast some action is taken by the authorities.
I have myself written to the authorities so let me see the outcome.
Thanks.
