[Resolved] Makemy Trip — the flight was nonfunctional and the refund has not been processed even after 1.5 years | |||||
Flight ticket from goa to bangalore was booked through makemytrip.com on 24th of july 2016 for travel dated 4th sep 2016. I received a message on sep 1 2016 stating that the goa - blore flight which is air pegasus was cancelled due to operational issue. Make my trip never took any responsibility at that time to help us move to a different flight. I had to make another booking on indigo flight for my return from goa to bangalore paying additional charges. After this i have called makemytrip several times for my refund but till date (Now almost 10 months) they have not refunded the amount of rs.5906. They are also misleading/lying as many times they have confirmed on call that they have initiated a refund process to my account. When asked again, they say that when the airlines refunds the amount only then they will refund the amount to the customers. My point is that my transaction was with them - i had made the payment/business with makemytrip and it’s their duty and responsibility to refund my money. What happens between them and their vendors is not the consumer’s problem! Why should they list service providers that are faulty?? Makemytrip seems to have cheated me and is continuing to do so, by not refunding my money. Please help me in sorting out this issue. Was this information helpful? | |||||

Verified Support Nov 24, 2017 MakeMyTrip India Customer Care's response Dear Abhijith Rk, Greetings from MakeMyTrip!!! We are sorry to read about the issue. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. Further, in reference to your concern, please be advised that the current issue is not isolated to you but to many others who booked to fly on Air Pegasus through not only MakeMyTrip but other agencies including airline’s own website. When you make a booking, the fare amount is transferred to the airline. When a flight is cancelled or when a passenger decides to cancel, the due amount is received back from the airline which we refund back to the Customer. At this juncture, the airline has still not refunded the due amount back to us and the entire industry is chasing Air Pegasus. I hope you will at least appreciate that we don’t run the airline. The situation of Air Pegasus is well known to all o[censored]s. What I can assure you is that MakeMyTrip is not holding your money and never will. Till now Airline did not provide any time line for the refund. The moment we get this back from the airline we will start the refund process. I also assure you once again that the issue is faced by all flyers regardless of where and who they booked their ticket from. We are constantly asking the airline.
