[Resolved] MakeMyTrip India — Refund for cancelled Air Pegasus flight | |||||
I booked a flight from Bangalore to Trivandrum through Makemytrip. The air carrier was Air Pegasus. The onward journey date was August 13th 2016. The ticket was booked on 6th July 2016. The operations of Air Pegasus was cancelled within couple of weeks on booking the tickets. Makemytrip cancelled our tickets to Trivandrum and asked us to make other other arrangements. Makemytrip assured us that the entire amount will be refunded within 1 week. It has been more than 45 days since the ticket was cancelled and we are yet to receive our money. Everytime we call makemytrip, their response is that they have not received refund from Air Pegasus and they can refund us the money only when they receive money from the Airline. However Air Pegasus informed us that they have made partial refund to Makemytrip, but Makemytrip is denying this claim. We would like to request both Makemytrip and Air Pegasus to initiate the refund process and give us back the amount. Was this information helpful? | |||||

This email is regarding the refund claim for your Air Pegasus flight.
The current issue is not isolated to you but to many others who booked to fly on Air Pegasus through not only MakeMyTrip but other agencies including airline’s own website.
When you make a booking, the fare amount is transferred to the airline. When a flight is cancelled or when a passenger decides to cancel, the due amount is received back from the airline which we refund back to the Customer.
At this juncture, the airline has not refunded the due amount back to us. I hope you will at least appreciate that we don’t run the airline. The situation of Air Pegasus is well known to all of us. What I can assure you is that MakeMyTrip is not holding your money and never will. The moment we get this back from the airline we will start the refund process. I also assure you once again that the issue is faced by all flyers regardless of where and who they booked their ticket from.
We are constantly asking the airline. We will begin refund the moment airline directs us to do so.
