[Resolved]  Manipal Hospital — Money racket factory

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

This is the most unethical hospital. It is a completely money-churning factory at the cost of the patient's health. Recently, it has started playing with the H1N1 cases. All the simple viral flu cases are referred for H1N1 tests, as each test costs 5K. Faked reports are being produced, in order to promote the brand name of the hospital for maximum turn around of positive & healed cases. I have been a victim of the same. Dr. Pankaj, reputed Doctor from General Medicine Deptt from the hospital is one such doctor, who is referring maximum viral flu cases as H1N1, in order to meet the target given to him by the hospital. When I counter-questioned him about my positive report given by the hospital, as my chest x-ray done at the same hospital was clear & as my report had come negative, when done at Command hospital, he turned defensive & said that Army hospitals were worst hospitals. This kind o[censored]nprofessional & unethical doctors should be banned & put behind bars, as they play with the health of the patient & put them under tremendous mental pressure. Would request to kindly stop this kind of practice at your hospital, before we citizens take up a serious case against the hospital & put a halt to such malpractices being carried inside the hospital. Complaint marked as Resolved
After registering the complaint, the Manipal hospital PR reached out to me & scheduled a F2F meeting with the Manipal hospital Mgmt team, wherein I put forward all the harassment I had went through & assured that the same would not be repeated with another patient. Hope that they have taken necessary action & warned the concerned doctor of the consequences in the future, if he repeats his malpractice. Thanks.

Many thanks for giving relevant importance to my feedback & giving time to hear me out.

Special thanks to Dr. Rajesh Shetty (Medical Superintendent) & Dr. Shantala, who took out their precious time to listen to my grievance/ feedback on my case & assured me with full sincerity to ensure that no one goes through the same hassle & mental harassment like me, unless the case is a 'C' category H1N1 case according to prescribed Govt.guidelines.

Also, ensured that they would take my feedback with the concerned Doctor & ensure that all patients are treated with respect & given time to hear them out, however much mental pressure the Doctor may be under due to no.of cases he handles in a day.

It is more important to make aware & educate the patients & their relatives about the H1N1 flu, rather than demoralizing them, by becoming defensive & not hearing them out.

The fruitful discussion today has brought back my faith in the Hospital Management & I thank both the Doctors, I mentioned earlier in my mail for the same.
