[Resolved]  Marico — Solid sugar content observed in Saffola Honey bottle before expiry date

Address:Flat-G4, Sri Sairam Enclave

Dear Sir/Madam,
Few months before I was received Saffola Honey bottle for free for some item purchase. Unfortunately, I am not recollecting for which item purchase I received it.
As per advertisement and information on honey bottle packing, the honey bottle should contain pure natural honey i.e., 100%. where as after some months o[censored]sed, I could see sugar particles in the honey bottle. As per my knowledge natural honey doesn't emit sugar particles. That means this honey is not natural honey and company claiming that 100% natural as per my understanding from the advertisement and information on packing.

I could see the sentence with * mark that "CONTAINS NATURALLY OCCURRING SUGARS". I don't know about this

I am confused with naturally occurring sugar and 100% pure natural honey.

If it is not 100% pure natural honey, please mention same on advertisement and packing.

Here I attaching all reference images.
Thanks and Regards,

Marico Customer Care's response
Dear Eranna Kybarshi,

At the outset, we would like to thank you for being a Marico consumer. We also appreciate that you have taken time to connect with us on our product Saffola Honey.

This is with reference to your mail & images shared by you, we would like to inform you that Saffola Honey pack purchased by you is 100% pure, free from added sugars & free from any form of adulteration.

Honey is a natural product and is supersaturated solution of glucose, fructose etc. Crystallization of honey is a natural phenomenon and is an indicator of purity of honey. During crystallization, the glucose in honey precipitates out and this appears to be solidified or like crystals as noticed by you. Different varieties of honey will crystallize at different rates, and a few not at all. Even if Honey crystallizes, it is completely safe to consume.

The crystallization aspect has also been clearly declared on the Saffola pack label. The crystallized honey can be liquefied by simply placing the honey jar into warm to hot water or placing it under the sun light until the crystals completely dissolve.

This natural phenomenon of honey crystallization and facts on it has been published in several scientific research papers, articles and websites such as National Honey Board. You can read more about it here: https://honey.com/faq (Refer Honey Appearance) & click https://youtu.be/pVDJu6TUkNY to discover the truth about crystallization of honey.

Every batch of Saffola Honey is tested using NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) technology, which is one of the most advanced tests in the world, in the best in class international laboratories to ensure that it is 100% pure, free from added sugars and any form of adulteration. Saffola Honey is also compliant with all the quality parameters mandated by FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India). We will be glad to share with you the Certificate of Purity of this batch.

Hope this addresses your query. In case you need any further clarification, please share your contact number at [protected]@marico.com and an appropriate time between 9 am – 6 pm to enable us to get in touch with you.
