My father had a policy with Max Life Insurance. He received a call on 04/11/2023 from [protected] and [protected] stating that there is an amount of 1, 30, 000 which needs to be reimbursed to his account. If not, it would go to the Sale Agent. They were able to gain his trust as they shared the policy details and all his account and transaction details.
My questions to Max Life Insurance
1. Is there a data breach at Max Life? How did they get hold of my personal information?
2. What has been done by Max Life Insurance since there have been numerous reports of such attempts by scamsters?
3. Are all customers (existing or old) have been informed of such scam attempts? My father wasn't - don't they have the right to be informed of their data breach?
The following are the red flags (for other users)
1. No official mail account was shared.
2. Demand for INR 27, 750 /- for processing the claim (refundable). Upon negotiation, they provided a 50% discount. Was this information helpful? |
