I received a call from (m[protected] from lady saying her name was Ritika and that she was from Max life insurance Security division. She mentioned correct numbers of my 5 Max policies and said that the agent was claiming a bonus on my behalf but she can lodge a complaint if i want to claim the bonus myself. She created a file number and complaint number and asked me to call one Mr Prem Prajapati at (m) [protected] and share these details with him so he can tell me the next steps. She made it sound very urgent that the deadline was 5pm today or else the bonus will be claimed by the agent. I called Mr Prajapati and he said he would try to help me out by logging into his system on my behalf. I had to share the OTP with him. I thought it was a service transaction so i shared the OTP. He then calculated all the dues and came up with a figure of 8 lakhs plus which the agent was claiming on my behalf. He said the only way out was for me to buy a Bharati AXA policy online and generate my own agent code but it would be a very special policy with 8% interest and cancellation possible within a year. I had to invest 90000 and submit my IDs. That made me suspicious and i checked for similar frauds online. I found there were such calls to others too. I am very concerned that these fraudsters had complete details of my name, date of birth, address, policy numbers, premiums etc. This is not expected from Max. My confidential details have been compromised.
