[Resolved]  Mumbai Taxi — Taxi driver ran away with my mobile phone

I was going from Bandra Kurla Complex to my clients office in town through King's Circle. I got down of the taxi half way through just to buy a bottle of water but accidentally left the phone (Nexus 4) in the cab. While getting down, I did note down the last 4 digits of the taxi - it is 3852. It was Black & Yellow Taxi - Santro Model. I couldnt quite note the other details. The police people are not able to help me on this one as they want the entire registration number of the taxi. How do you think I can go about finding this taxi driver ?
