National Payments Corporation of India [NPCI] — Complaint about frauds in Wallet Transactions

Dear Sir,

I would like to draw your attention to the growing frauds in the domain of wallets and debit cards. Recently one of my friend lost his money after he was being tricked by the fraudster. When approached to the Bank they were not able to provide much information because the money was transferred to a wallet and there is no information regarding the ownership/ authenticity of the wallet owner except for a mobile number. Bank also expressed its inability that they are not able to identify the transaction is pertaining to wallet. I urge to provide a mechanism to clearly identify wallet transaction and save the hard earned money of customer. We may have introspect that debit card frauds are on increasing front especially in rural areas where people are less educated and wallet frauds are a real menace . It a real difficult challenge to trace who has initiated this fraud and banks are never able to put a control because they are not able identify this can be a potential wallet transaction fraud.
