Nestaway Technologies — Refund of Deposit

Hi team,

I and my friend resided in one of the PG (paying guest) accommodation in Mumbai.We had deposited rent of 2 months as deposit i.e.INR 24, 000.
And on 22nd March'20 the day lockdown started we got a mail from nestaway that as our owner has decided to offboard from nestaway, we have to vacate by 22nd April'20, but due to lockdown we had requested to extend it till 31st July and give us atleast one month's time for searching another house through nestaway itself. Nestaway team said we need not vacate till the lockdown is removed.As we were planning to shift within nestaway.

But on 20th June the owner of the house informed us that we need to vacate the house by 30th June'20.We immediately called up the area manager and he confirmed the same.Was it not the responsibility of the area manager to inform us in advance ? We were in constant touch with him every month and he was assuring us till the lockdown is removed we need not vacate but all of a sudden the above scenario happens. And we were forced to move out as none of them showed us proper house, owing to limited time. as we need to give 10 days notice period before vacating a property, we moved out of nestaway.

Also nestaway app was freezed from March due to which no move out or move in request can be raised and in June only when we checked with our area manager on the above we were able to raise move out request till then we were unable to raise the request.

Please note all this is happening when my friend who had gone to her native for holi, coudn't come back till today.I had to manage all this alone on her behalf.

On 1st july i had gone to hand over the keys to nestaway during which one of their vendors came for inspection. In his inspection report charged us INR.6000 per head for deep cleaining and some repair works.When asked to the vendor who was accompanied by one nestaway employee told me that nestaway has asked to charge the tenants for deep cleaning. The nestaway employee was just watching all this. When we rechecked with our area manager(please note our area manager didn't come the day i went for handover the key) he said nestaway has never asked us to charge any such amount unless and untill if owner had asked for. But the owner who was also present in the house had not requested any such thing.You can check his handing over report too.When we confronted the vendor he agreed that he had put it on his own as needed money.Also when i asked him if the charges are per head or will it be divided between me and my roomate he confirmed it will be divided. i.e 6000/2= INR .3000 rs.

We got the refund only yesterday with a deduction INR 8000 and INR.600 i, e, arounf INR .15000.

My freind is still unable to come from her native as she is unable to get tickets. We went through enough mental torture because of nestaway employees. We never got any support from them and sometimes spoke very rudely. Even the vendor who came for inspection was too sheepish. There is a geyser whcih got repaired a week before lock down, it was repaired by one of the nestaway vendors. The Vendor didnt fit the pipe properly and hence water keeps leaking all the time, when i asked the vendor he said i will come the next day and fix it as i dont have the tool.And that next day never came.I had immeditely shared the images to the area manager and informed him, but he never took any action instead i was questioned why did i let him go?This is the kind of support we get from nestaway team in Mumbai.

I'm filing this complaint for both me and my friend.We need complete refund of INR 8600 per head.
