GSM operator Vodafone has presented to its customers the world’s cheapest mobile phone model VF 150 in India and few days back in Qatar also. People and countries having less purchasing power often feel need of such handsets. The company is targeting highly populated countries like India and Gulf in order to eat the biggest pie of telecom Industries through “ultra low cost models”. Such kind of handset helps companies in targeting new customer base belongs to rural area.
In the statement made by the company, the Vodafone 150 (VF 150) model phone comes with 24 months replacement warranty as specified in Qatar region. Vodafone Qatar’s Commercial Business Unit President Said Daniel Huran, VF 150 model launch offers mobile technology for the first time to many people and through this device they will be able to enjoy talking with other people .
VF 150, offers voice and SMS services, as well as mobile payment service. The Phone’s other features includes a mini USB connection, alarm, light, calculator, two games, 100 sign up to address notebook and calculator is set up.
Vodafone Qatar has informed that last week the country’s number of customers reaches 465-thousand .
In India while the launch of handset Kumar Ramanathan, Chief Marketing Officer, Vodafone Essar stated, “The cost of handset can be a significant barrier for people in accessing and benefiting from the mobile revolution. At the price point of VF 150, many more people will become part of the connected world. We will continue to facilitate consumer empowerment through such initiatives.”
In India one can grab the handset just by paying Rs 799 only.
