I, Abdur Rehman, aged 25, residing at Neelkamal Apartments, Chennai, wish to file a complaint regarding a fraudulent activity I experienced through the online marketplace OLX.
On 07 October 2025, I came across an advertisement for Maruti Alto 800 - 2013 model listed for sale on OLX. The seller introduced himself as an Army personnel named SHIVASHANT MALLAPPA MUTARE claiming to be posted at [Army Base of Pallavaram].
He shared a copy of a fake Army ID card and used emotionally manipulative language, saying he was being transferred and urgently needed to sell the car. He provided photos of the vehicle and offered it at a below-market price of ₹40000.
He asked for an initial payment of ₹3000 via Payment Method Google Pay, Paytm, Bank Transfer] to process the "transport via army courier." After the payment, he became unreachable and never delivered the vehicle.
Upon further investigation and checking online forums, I realized this is a common scam involving impersonation of army personnel to gain trust.

This is a serious matter of impersonation of armed forces personnel and cyber fraud. I request you to kindly take strict action under relevant sections of IPC and IT Act and help trace the accused.
