[Resolved]  Oyo Room — Fraud transaction & fake rooms

Dear Sir / Madam

we have booked a Room in ooty from 11.11.2022 to 13.11.2022
Booking ID is SO5A6466 with 4 room for 9 Adults and 4 Children's
Hotel name is Hidden Valley "OYO flagship 702208"

we have made a advance of Rs.4795 /- on[protected]. we got the confirmation from OYO

We started to travel on 11.11.2022 from Bangalore to Ooty on the way we got a call from hidden valley person saying that there is a shortage of room if you make a full payment to my number I will confirm the room or I will cancel the room. Then hotel person shared all booking details with booking ID, location, mobile number, email ID and everything. so we asked that we will pay through OYO but he didn't agreed for the same and he said that from OYO we receive a payment after sixty days so he asked me to make the payment to his account and he shared the account details and asked to pay to this account. He said that if you pay the remaining balance I will confirm the room or I will cancel it. As we started and on the way to Ooty with the children's we paid the balance amount of Rs.8100 on 11.11.2022 but hotel person said that he didn't received it and asked to make a payment again and if it double payment done he promised that he will refund the amount. So again we made the payment of Rs.8100.

once after reaching OOTY we went to Room location there was no Hotel on the Location and we called to OYO and got the hotel number then we called the hotel person then he said he will pick us. Then he didn't came after waiting for around 1 hour in rain. Then he shared the different location and he asked to travel almost 3KM and he was showing a different Hotel where there was no basic facility also he showed the room which we have not booked. so we asked to refund the amount at that time he said that it is not possible to cancel from his end so he asked us to cancel from OYO app and refund will be done through OYO app. Then we asked the amount what we paid directly to hotel person at that time he was saying we didn't received any amount and the person who received the amount does not belong to our hotel staffs. ( we are trying to call the number which was mentioned in OYO that number was not picking for the entire day ). So we made the payment to the person who whatsapp me where the information given by him was correct. So we thought that the person is from the hotel which we have booked ( booking information will be with OYO and hotel person only so we made a payment ). We were with the family and there was also children's so we had a fear that if the room got cancelled it would be problem for the children's so we made the full payment. After making this payment also we struggled a lot in heavy rain till 11:30 PM. After that we got help from local people.

So I request you to refund all the amount which I paid in advance of Rs.4795 on 22.10.22 through OYO app and 8100*2+8099=24299 which I paid to the person who whatsapp totally it will is Rs.29094.
Reason for cancellation is hotel is not in the same location as shown in OYO app and hotel person was shown a different room which was not in good condition to stay. So I request you to refund the entire amount of Rs.20995 and please recheck the Hotel before listing in OYO so that customer will not struggle.

This was a horrible experience from OYO.

This is a clear cut of fraud transaction either from OYO app or hotel person which is listed in OYO or there is a data breach from OYO app.

Any instances where a payment collection is attempted from any unauthorized payment gateways other than the ones mentioned above are acts of suspicious payment collection.
