Oyo Rooms — Fraud and Cheating

A serious complain has been made to the Ministry of Tourism.. Dear Sir, At an extreme disappointment I am forced to write this mail to Make My Trip. I had made a hotel booking on Thu- 06, August 15, under Booking ID: NH[protected] and I received a confirmation mail for the same. The booking was done for my guest Mr. Shubham Agnihotri at OYO PREMIUM MUMBAI TERMINAL T2, SAKI VIHAR ROAD, MUMBAI. The booking was confirmed and I had received confirmation mail and SMS for the same followed by a missed called to be given by us as a confirmation for the same. On Sat-15, August 15, at 11:45 pm after a long distance journey when my guest reached the hotel he was surprisingly denied for any hotel booking in his name. When we inquired we were told by the hotel manager that he has not received any confirmation mail from OYO for room booking. We called up the customer care of MMT and OYO the conversation went for about one and half hour, a chain of phone call were made, till late night and worst part my guest kept on waiting in the reception of the hotel throughout waiting for the room to be offered. OYO people were trying to wash away their hands claiming that the confirmation mail has been sent to the hotel and hotel manager kept denying for any receipt of mail. Attitude of OYO people was as if their responsibility end at sending the mail and they are not concerned if the guest gets the room or not… Finally, considering worst expected support from MMT and OYO and above all my guest who was travelling a long distance international flight and being a sugar patient was left with no other option but to book a room at the same hotel and check in.. It does not stop here the worst part is exactly after 10 minutes of making payment for the hotel room the hotel manager confirms for receipt of mail from OYO (around two hours after entering the hotel). When we asked for the refund as now he has the confirmation mail he refused to do so claiming it to be fault of MMT and OYO. ITS AND ABSOLUTE CASE OF FRAUD, CHEATING AND PHYSICAL & MENTAL HARASSMENT. Its not our fault if the mail was not sent in advance to the hotel. We had done all the required formalities/payments and had the confirmation on mail. We were giving the booking ID of MMT which was not acceptable to the hotel manager. You are requested to consider this as a very serious complain and take the matter ahead for the strictest possible action and I would not hesitate to take the matter further up to any extent if required.

This is to bring under every one notice.

I booked hotels (5 bookings -3 booking for company visit and 2 for personal) through OYO rooms app for company job purpose in Godavari lodge, Varanashi, UP from 25th dec to 31st dec 2019. My 3 booking ID are FCKQ5312, LWEJ7256 and HUZV6523.

As per our company demand for reimbursement, i updated my comany GST detail before booking to get GST Invoice after check out of 3 bookings out of 5.

So, after check out on 31st, i called in OYO customer care number [protected] and asked for tax invoice of all 3 bookings, they gave me time of 72 hrs to get the invoice in my mail ID so i waited.

But no one from OYO send me any invoice after 72 hrs. Again i called in customer care no., they said again the same thing. Like this, many a times i called and heard the same commitment from all.

Finally they sent me payment receipt copy after 3 days which is not acceptable for reimbursement to my company.

I called above 50 times to OYO and also sent mails for gst invoice and on request, finally they sent me tax GST invoice which was totally fake.

I paid Rs 11316 for booking ID FCKQ5312, Rs 1581 for ID LWEJ7256 and Rs 919 for ID HUZV6523, they sent me only one invoice of FCKQ5312 of amount Rs 1632 which was not matching to my booking amount.

Even i reported OYO customer care and said to send correct invoice but no one bothered. They were keeping my call on hold for above 40 mins. All reciept, invoice and hold call screenshot are attached herewith.

Finaly, after 5 days, i.e.today dated 6th jan 20, when i called to customer care and said that today is my last day to submit my all invoice/bills, they said "you are not eligible to get GST invoice as you have booked non gst hotel" and dismissed my call. I submitted all expenses bill today to my company except hotel bookings invoice.

Now say, i have gone through OYO app and from there after several searching i booked a hotel named godavari lodge in varanashi which is authorised by OYO itself. How i can come to know that godavari lodge is having GST no.or not? Also than, why OYO said to update our company GST number and committed me to provide tax invoice after check out.

This is how this OYO rooms do harrassment with his customers. Now i have to pay the total amount from my pocket and company will deduct the amout from my hard earning coming month salary. I trusted OYO but they misused and trapped me.

Whenever i was calling in customer number, every time different people were talking. I remember few names such as sonnoy das, dishant, kalicharan, dipankar, poonam, moin, singdha and many. Every time they are forcing to give 5 rating for their assistance in mail but no one helped me. Sindgha of OYO consoled me by saying that if you wont get GST invoice than you will get 18 % of the amount back. How illiterate they are. I will loose huge amout and she is telling me of 18%.

Earlier even OYO people said me that you have update company gst no.for only one booking so you wont get gst invoice of others but today they are saying you will not get GST invoice of any bookings. How much digusting coordination they area having. Moreover, the rules o[censored]pdating gst of every single booking was unknown to me.

Case ID generated again and again against my complaint by OYO (screenshot attached with generated ID numbers ) but no one took responsibility to send the GST invoice which actually i was needed. How cheap OYO is.

After calling OYO customer care several time for gst invoice after check out, they sent me payment reciepts. When i get the payment reciept on 3rd jan, its it's written their, take invoice from hotel itslef. I called and asked godavari lodge manager, in reply he said, you have booked from OYO and paid total amout to them, now ask OYO to provide tax invoice, we are not responsible.Now say, i checked out from hotel on 31st dec 19 and OYO is sending payment reciept on 3rd jan 20 after my calls, how do i know before that i have to ask for invoice from hotel which dont have its own GST number operating by OYO.

How come government is allowing this types of fraud organisations to run. I dont know. Also one case i read in news of OYO fraudlent just 2 days ago. In order to save tax, OYO took my money.

Please highlight the issue so that other customers should not face such problem in future. However, I will bring the issue under social media for further acknowledgement because i will suffer the huge loss.

Not last but the list, the pictures of lodge which shown in the OYO was so impressive but after reaching, the originality came out. No facility as said by OYO. The lodge was like a stable where animals stays. I never believed that OYO can do like this.
