[Resolved]  Oyo Rooms — harassment and fraud by customer helpline

I had booked a room for 5 nights at mumbai-hotel royce executive 9327. Looking at the photos it looked a good deal to me and as i had heard good about oyo rooms and it is 100% controlled by oyo i booked the hotel.

When i checked in i paid full amount in cash and when they alloted me a room they said all other rooms are full we have only this room which was a deluxe room which was bigger than what i booked for that night. When i went to the room the linen and towels were very dirty with lots of spots and there were lot of hairs in the linen and towel. When i told the staff about it then they told me it is like this only and just arrived from laundry. I didn't want to quarrel with them and finished the conversation. I found some bed bugs and insects also in the room. The morning i woke up early due to an alarm from the ac because there was a sudden big noise from it and the ice started to fall down from it. I was in mumbai for a seminar so i had to leave early at 8 in the morning. I left the room key at the reception as they were supposed to change my room on the day.

I came back to the hotel at about 9pm and asked them about room change and my key. The room was not changed and when i went to my room the room was open already (Security issue i faced). Then again i checked my luggage and it was ok. Again i checked the room and the linen was changed but it was even more dirty. Even the bathroom was not cleaned. Then again i went to the reception asking for a room change and they didn't give me another room. I then called the oyo helpline and then after lots of talk they finally gave me another room. The other room also had the same problems. I again called the oyo helpline asking them to shift my hotel. They told me that they cannot change it right now as it was 11pm. So i stayed there for the night. As i was not sure if they will give me another hotel soon i had booked another oyo townhouse at khar where i would go in the morning before my seminar. I could hardly sleep in the room that night.

The next morning i called oyo helpline at 6am and told them i am checking out from here and shifting to another oyo which i had booked at khar. I talked to him and he confirmed to me that my check out is done and i will get refund for 2 days cancellation which i had made. I requested him to give me refund for 3 days as i had requested for the change even earlier. He had assured me of the refund and i moved to khar oyo townhouse 046. I reached there and kept my luggage there and confirmed my stay. I did not pay the amount there because there was refund to be done in my account from oyo and i would pay the difference amount. The person accepted my luggage and i went for my seminar and told him that i will return by 9pm.

I got a few calls from oyo which i could not pick up due to my seminar and then received e-mail from oyo about my issue. I replied to them that i cannot pick the call and please text me on email. They requested me to call back whenever free. I called them about my issue but could not get any resolution for it. I called again and again but all i had to do was explain the whole problem to every person and they would make me wait for 10 mins and the whole call was for 25-30 mins. This way i wasted my 2-3 hours for getting harrasment from oyo and miss my important sessions.in between the calls i got a message from oyo that my booking at oyo townhouse is cancelled due to not in contact and when i talked to them they said that my luggage is also not there. I immediately asked to connect me to the property manager and again after waiting for 10-15 mins i got to talk to manager knew that my luggage was there only.

I had to make another booking yet at oyo flagship where i had to check in again for 3 days. I was in hope that i would get a refund and would pay the shifting expenses only. I therefore had to again miss my seminar and leave early to take my luggage from oyo townhouse 046 khar and check in at the oyo flagship.in between this i again made calls to oyo helpline for my issue and again everyone asks me the whole problem. After explaining my problems they would assure me of the refund and end the call.

I stayed at oyo flagship by paying them the full 3 day amount again and did not want to contact the oyo helpline again as i did not want to get harrasment again and knew well that these fraudsters does not want to refund my money. When i told the people at oyo flagship about my previous experience then they told me that oyo customer helpline is the worst place to talk to.

I don't think that my refund will be there as they have removed all the refund requests from my account in the oyo app. They even did not even provide me with invoice and payment for my 5 night stay at royce executive. I had to again email them to get my invoice 2 days after the whole booking was made.

I just want to let everyone know about how oyo deals with their guests and please be aware of these things while booking a room at oyo ever. Never believe what the customer helpline tells you.

My complaint was resolved and I got a 3 day refund for my booking. I should have complained here instead of killing my time with oyo helpline number. Well the money received can never fulfill my time which I lost due to calls at oyo helpline number. However this was quite an experience with oyo helpline as explained earlier. I request people to please book rooms carefully and never trust any oyo guest experience managers as their resolution system is crap.

Hi,

I've already mailed OYO for stopping the promotional SMS but still i'm receiving the messages on daily basis and its very frustrating. Request you to please take actions.
