Oyo Rooms — horrible experience /fleecing by your hotel at mannargudi

We booked six rooms over phone from pune, and (Oyo 62665 poorna lodge) did not send any booking confirmation but said we could come and choose the rooms on arrival. We were little skeptical since we were unsure of rooms quality & availability as the booking had no reference and was done just over the phone. Luckily when we landed most rooms were empty. We reached at 8:30 pm or so, and the manager mr. Sargunan with a heavy attitude, ordered around the room boy (Imagine, just one room boy serving 60+ rooms) to give us the rooms. We told the manager to keep one room for a late comer (Who will check in at 2 am or so) and give 5 rooms. But the room boy was not communicated of this apparently, and opened all 6 rooms, though we (9 o[censored]s) occupied only 5 rooms.

To our surprise there were indian style toilets in most rooms, and when we asked the manager for rooms with western toilets, he said "since we did not ask for western toilets (Over phone) he had given only those rooms. And now, if we wanted western toilets then the charges would be double as they are part of a/c rooms only". We argued, its december and so we didn’t need ac rooms, but he made it to be our problem and pushed the ac rooms and the double charges to us and collected all money in advance for 6 rooms.

And, on top of the double charge, we realized they charge for the 6th room separately from the party that arrived late (So they charged for a room twice from us), since they opened a different room for them and not the 6th room opened already (This, i feel is the tactics of the manager to charge extra bucks for un-occupied rooms from groups like this). When asked about this, the manager promptly pleaded since the room was open all night we (Us) had to pay, otherwise he will have to pay from his pocket. We said, that’s not out problem but he conveniently took a stand not to pay, and this is in addition to the double charge already levied on us. Such a fleece!

There is no hot water in the rooms, so one has to wait since all rooms are served by just one room boy. There is no lift to the hotel reception which is in the first floor. There is no dining facility of the hotel, though one available in the vicinity. There is no internet available. There is no covered / managed parking lots, its all on the street only. We would highly recommend not to take a chance with this hotel

I called Oyo Customer care since not heard from them even after reminder. They were rude and said, without booking ID they wont help. I asked them, whose responsibility was it in the first place to provide a booking ID, for which they didnt have an answer. They said, I was wasting their time if I didnt have a booking ID. They refused to call up the hotel and ask why they didnt give a reference ID in the first place. Crazy!
