I have tried hotel booking at Jamshedpur through Trivago on 7th Jun 2019, I have found some good offers from OYO hotels and got redirected to OYO site, They asked me to get registered in their portal. I got registered with my mobile number and went through a series of the questioner in this process. Finally, I got registered and they provided Rs 500 promotional cash in the OYO wallet.
I started the booking and got a reasonably good hotel at Jamshedpur outskirt. Name of the hotel is OYO 15240, The City Inn. They also offered for the inclusion of breakfast with additional Rs. 140, I had accepted that Finally after all calculation the booking amount was 1500+, which was paid 900 through credit card and balance amount through discount and from OYO wallet.
I received confirmation from the site through SMS as well as through PDF as shown below.
Surprisingly while checking in the hotel said that my booking is rejected by them. Instantly I had called helpdesk (number [protected]) and they said that it is still valid, I have arranged them to call with the hotel reception through my mobile phone, they talked for 5 minutes but no solution provided. Every time I call in that helpline, the new person used to pick up after 10 to 15 minute then same things happened repeatedly they talked to reception then keep my hold and disconnected the call after 4 to 5 minute, In one instance they kept me hold for 25 minutes with a piece of background music. I had tried 52 times in three hours, but no resolution happened. Hotel reception had provided me with a local number of OYO coordinator Mr Ranjeet ([protected]). I called him, he asked the message the I was received from OYO, He assured that he will resolve the issue within 10 minutes, after a long wait of 25 minutes, I called back, he said that somebody from OYO will call back within 10 minutes, That 10 minute never completed. The person repeatedly disconnected my call once with a message that he will reach the place shortly. Even after half an hour he called back said, he is arranging some other better hotel. Thereafter I called back again after 15 minutes, there was some hot exchange as I was in harassed for 4 hours in a hotel reception with the temperature outside is more than 42. Mr Ranjeet said that he would not help us, OYO is a fraud company, he threatened me to do whatever I want to do, he doesn’t have any botheration.
Surprising I found that 8 to 10 groups surrounding me was listening to me while talking, all of them reported that same problem happened to them. All of them was trying to call OYO helpdesk.
I left the place with harassment of 4 to 5 hours and expenditure of Rs.500 toward conveyance and booked another hotel, still after lapses of 24 hours, I have not received any call or SMS from OYO neither refund of money.
