I had booked a stay at OYO for the dates 28.02.2022 to 15.03.2022 at hotel Berry's Marathalli, Bangalore under booking no. WDXM8094
On the same day as my check-in i have put in a request to cancel my reservation on the grounds of safety and quality of stay.
The reasons for me trying to cancel my booking are as follows
1. I was allocated a room with a malfunctioning lock. This itself is a major safety hazard.
2. The room was dirty and unkept with leakages. ( photos attached)
3. Staff were unprofessional
As a solo woman traveller, these are reasons enough to fear for my safety and I wanted a prompt cancellation and a refund.
Upon requesting a refund I was initially promised that it would be processed after the checkout date (15.03.2022) date.
I also have email confirmation for the Agent Ms Suman giri who sent an email on 28.02.2022 with ticket number [protected] promising me my due refund of Rs 19997 as it was a MID STAY CANCELLATION DUE TO SAFETY ISSUE
Further, I also have email confirmation stating that my refund has been processed via NEFT after taking all my personal bank details.
This confirmation was given to me via email on 24.03.2022 by Pritish and Ticket ID: [protected]
In Spite of these promises, my refund has not been issued and I have been fed one false promise after another.
I got an email on 05.04.2022 that no refund will be processed ( What a joke !) .
Even the official OYO room policy dictates that I can cancel my stay mid-way and get a refund.
I'm not being allowed to speak to any agent on call, my phone is disconnected. I don't get replies to email anymore.
No one has bothered to get in touch with me.
This is my last resort before i file an FIR against this scam company
