Popular Maruti — Poor service and Delivered a poor quality vehicle

Dear Sir, This is Ashok Kumar S. I paid total amount and purchased a vehicle “Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire ZDI “ on 25-Sep-2014 at “Popular Vehicles & Services Ltd, No.9 & 10 Velachery Main Road, Balaji Nagar, Pallikaranai, Chennai-100”. I took the vehicle delivery on 26-Sep-2014 at 5.45 PM from the above mentioned showroom. After the delivery I went to near by temple to do Pooja for the vehicle and while driving i felt very unconformable feeling due to hard steering and smooth-less gear rod. Even I felt little bit of pain after coming home due the hard steering. I asked one of my friend to drive the car to get his opinion about steering and gear rod. He gave me the same feedback whatever i mentioned above. After this I did not take out my car from my garage. In the past (6 moths ago), I drove Dzire LDI model and i liked very much on the steering and gear rod smoothness. And also, I have read lot of reviews and got feedback from my friends about this car smoothness. This is the main reason forced me to buy this model. But NOW, this new car gives me manual steering feel and there is a sound during gear shifting & it is not that much smooth. I raised this concern to the above mentioned showroom on the same day(26/Sep) evening and they promised me that it will be rectified. They (showroom person) took my car for checking on 29/Sep noon. After checking the car in the service center, they had told me over phone that everything is normal and there is no compliant to arrest. But again, I spoke to the sales executive who sold the car to me. Then he drove the car and agreed the complaints. Sale Executive had called me in the evening (26/Sep) and told me that the complaints are rectified. After this, directly I went to the showroom to take the test drive, but the problem still persist. Sales executive is very polite and told me that the service center guys are saying that there is no complaint to arrest and this will be rectified once you start using the vehicle. But I really do not understand that HOW this will be rectified like this? Why new vehicle is like this? And he(sales executive) doubted that the air pressure might be too high in the tyre and that could be the reason that the steering is hard. Then we went to near by Petrol bunk to check the air pressure in the tyre and we were surprised that it was 43 in all the tyres. That too this car is passed the PDA test. Ideally it should be 32 and we asked to reduce the air pressure to 32. After this, we drove the car and the steering was bit OK; but still it is NOT that much smooth. After this, the sale executive took us to the showroom manager (Name: Mr. Selva Kumar, Designation: SM). We explained the same to him. Then he said that I will verify the vehicle once. After sometime, he came to us and asked a question “Have you drove this car?”; and he said everything seems normal. I am really surprised that simply people are coming and telling the same answer and asking illogical questions. His (Manager) attitude was very worst. He was asking us irrelevant questions such as “What is the vehicle that you have?”, “Do you know what is the gear system & how it works”, “ Do you know what is hydraulic”. He is asking questions like a interviewer asks question in the interview. Moreover all the questions are irrelevant and the way he treated us is too bad. Finally, he(Mr. Selva Kumar) did not agree on the problems that we described. I had paid 8.6 lacs and spending this much time on this issue. Not able to use the car till now; that too almost 5 days now. I did NOT take the car from the showroom till now and still stays there. If the problem is not arrested, I will NEVER take the vehicle from the showroom. If this problem is not rectified then I need my money back and will go for different brand. Or worst case, i request to replace the vehicle. To summarize about the problems,   1. Steering is hard (gives feel like bit of manual steering)   2. Sound during gear shifting, it is not that much smooth.   3. During delivery, tyre pressure is not standard(it was 43). With these problem, how the PDA sticker is being affixed on the car? How can we believe the testing quality?    I request the higher officials to pay attention on this issue and resolve it immediately. Regards, Ashok
