Postal Life Insurance — Premium & Policy Issue | |||||
I have a PLI vide Policy No APS[protected]L with effect from 13 Jan 2011 while I was serving in Indian Air Force. I have taken retirement on 31 Dec 2013 and subsequently I applied for transfer of policy to my settled place i.e my Home town MIRZAPUR (UP) PIN-231001. As per the letter and instruction received from DDAPS (PLI), I keep depositing my premium in cash till jul 2015. When the post offices become online then HPO is unable to deposit my premium and in this regard I met Head Post Master personally and handed over a written request of my problem. After 15 days or so I received a reply from HPO Mirzapur that you have not deposited your two month premium. I shown all the document and instruction received from DDAPS (PLI) on the basis of which I have deposited my premium after transfer to HPO Mirzapur and subsequently Postmaster says me premium for the month of Jan 2014 is not deposited. The said premium could not be deposited by them for three month. When I checked online about the status of my policy I found that the status of my policy is showing lapsed and the payment mode is recovery from payment, however I have deposited all the premium till now. For this again I have approached to Head Post Office Mirzapur and submitted the issue in writing but yet there is no action has been initiated from their end. Which shows a poor functioning of post office staff on the issue such as life insurance. Was this information helpful? | |||||

Post office must update their website or should develop effective communication to policy holder
