I had the worst travel experience of my life during my journey from Salem to Chennai.
I originally booked a sleeper seat for 17 Nov 2025 for ₹800, but due to a health issue, I rescheduled the same ticket to 18 Nov 2025 (night).
While booking on Redbus, the seat appeared in pink, indicating it was a women’s seat, so I selected it. Normally, Redbus does not allow a female passenger’s seat to be booked next to a male passenger, but due to some glitch, the app still booked it next to a male passenger.
I raised a complaint with Redbus. Your team contacted the bus conductor and asked him to arrange a safe sleeper berth for me, possibly by requesting a male passenger to swap seats. The conductor told me there were no empty berths and the bus was completely full. I accepted the situation, and he gave me the conductor’s seat for the journey.
Later during the journey, I asked a male passenger in a single sleeper if he could swap and he agreed. When I asked him if the conductor had spoken to him earlier, he said no, even though the conductor had told me he had asked everyone and no one agreed. This was the first lie.
When I went to my sleeper berth, I was shocked to see a couple sleeping in my berth. The conductor had earlier told me there were no empty seats, but he had actually swapped my male co-passenger to an empty single sleeper and then gave my berth (and my co-passenger’s berth) to the couple who had boarded mid-journey. He collected ₹850 from each of them.
When I questioned him, he behaved very rudely and aggressively. During the break, he even threatened me, saying:
“I will leave you alone here at midnight. Call your parents to pick you up.”
This was extremely frightening and unacceptable. Only when I said I would call the police did he apologize and try to rearrange the seat. In front of me, he called the couple’s male passenger and lied again, saying he needed the seat because I wasn’t feeling well.
This entire experience was traumatic, unsafe, and unprofessional.
The conductor openly lied, misbehaved, threatened me, and illegally sold seats for extra money.
I request Redbus to take strict and immediate action against this conductor.
I am ready to share the conductor’s phone number and all journey details if required.
