I purchased an HP laptop (Model no - HP-15bs616TU) from Reliance Digital Store in April 14 2018 and the sales person asked me to get an extended warranty by Resq of 4 years by paying extra amount of INR 4000 approx. When I enquired about the details, they said that I will get home pick up and drop in case the laptop is broken. I also checked the same mentioned in official website and care plan booklet. So, I purchased the warranty from Resq - ResQ care plan - 550487 ending in 13/4/2022.
In March 2021, my laptop started malfunctioning, it got really slow and booting time also increased.
When I called Customer care to register a complaint, they asked me to visit the service center in Kasturi Nagar, Bangalore. When I asked for pickup, they said it is not done anymore (even though home pickup and drop is mentioned in the warranty booklet also).
When we visited the service center, we saw that it had closed few months back itself (the call center did not know this. How pathetic!)
We searched for another service center using store locator on the resq official website. Upon calling there, they said they only service apple products.
We searched for yet another one and also confirmed the address of this one through call center. Upon reaching there, we saw there is no Service center there as well.
we were so exhausted by then, we had to return. All this ordeal, after paying for my warranty!!
Next, we went to Resq counter inside a Reliance digital store (in Forum mall) to enquire about the same as we still had some trust in the company.
They gave us an address of a Service Center in Bellandur, Bangalore.
We finally found a service center there, but they declined Service saying we have stopped providing service.
We were extremely frustrated at this point and started realizing that the whole resq thing is a scam from Reliance to mint money from honest Customers.
They again asked to go to another place where I could find the service center. Then also, they gave a wrong address at first, then after going there, we called them again. After that they sent another address, where we finally found a Reliance Digital Store where they agreed to service us.
Our complaint was raised (#[protected])
But, our ordeal did not end there.
We got a call next day from Resq engineer. He said that he has checked everything and nothing seems to be faulty and that it is slow because of its configuration. He also asked me to pay 5000 more for buying and installing additional SSD.
When I asked how is getting SSD going to solve slowness issues, he had no proper answer. When my husband asked to just format the laptop, he said that for that we have to pay 1000 rupees. Yes, that's right, he asked for 1000 rupees just for formatting the laptop even though the laptop is covered in warranty.
That is when we realised that Reliance Digital is a fraud and they can stoop low to any levels.
I just want Reliance Digital to either admit that they are fraud company or that they are not able to manage their employees who are corrupt as hell.
1) I want an answer as to why are you still writing - Home Pick up and Drop for laptops- on your care plan booklet and on official website also- when you do not provide that service.
2)I also want to know why do your Customer Care team has no idea which service centers are open and which are shut?
3)Why am I charged for a simple reformatting of the laptop- that too- INR 1000.
4)Why don't you provide that information while selling the product that everything will be chargeable even if you are covered under warranty plan by us?
To be honest, I do not expect any kind of honesty from this company anymore. I have written this complaint to ensure that people like me do not get fooled by them anymore.
