Reliance Industries — wrong time to introduce issue rights | |
As one may be aware, reliance industries have gone for rights issue which is to open on 20-may. They have credited some proportionate rights entitlement in my demat account. Now ideally i should be either buying them or sell them. If i don't do anything the offer will lapse and my valuation will decrease as once they are in market the share price will be proportionately diluted. The challenge is the lockdown. I do not have online trading as i am not a regular trader. So if i trade i do it thru my broker and submit delivery slip to my demat account issuer. Now due to lockdown i can not visit the bank where the demat account is held. It's at least 15 kms from my place. So i have no option but to let it go and lose the valuation. This is absolutely a bad time to introduce such a scheme and offer when the entire nation is under lockdown. I don't understand what hurry reliance industries have that they want capital on urgent basis and are not even ready to wait till lockdown is over and at least some relaxation is there in public transport and travel.
