Reliance Jio Infocomm — Denial of SIM Reissue Outside Original City Against DoT Guidelines

I am a customer of Reliance Jio with mobile number [protected], which has been deactivated due to non-recharge.

The SIM was originally issued in Chennai. Due to the unfortunate demise of my mother, I am currently in Uttar Pradesh and unable to travel back.

I visited a local Jio store, but I was denied SIM reissue and asked to return to Chennai. As per DoT guidelines, re-KYC and SIM reissue should be allowed across India with proper verification.

I am willing to complete full KYC, but the service provider is refusing to process my request at my current location.

I request intervention to:

Allow reissue of my number at my current location
Ensure compliance with DoT guidelines

This number is important as it is linked to my bank and essential services.
