Dear sir/ madam, I am a victim of smart business policies made by one of the biggest names in telecommunications industry popularly known as reliance jio infocomm limited. And, one of their unscrupulous way of making money can be explained through this instance wherein i had applied for number porting of two of my post paid numbers from vodafone to reliance jio which are (A[protected] and (B[protected], as i visited reliance jio store located at 198, rajdanga nabapally, kolkata - 700107 on 09.08.2019. But, when the porting was completed on 15.08.2019 i realized that the numbers were ported as pre paid instead of post paid for which i had to make a recharge of rs.197/- against each of the numbers which included rs.99/- for jio prime membership along with rs. 98/- for talk time and data plan for 28 days effective from 15.09.2019 to make the numbers usable. Now, to inform the mistake in porting i visited the jio store today again and the store accepted their mistake of porting the numbers as pre paid instead of post paid by an untrained staff which was the cause of this confusion. And, they made me fill up a form for transfer of the numbers from pre paid to post paid along with an additional payment of rs.349/- for each of the two connections which included rs.99/- for jio prime membership along rs.250/- as security deposit for talk time and data plan for 30 days. On inquiring the reason for paying jio membership twice once in pre paid and again in post paid i was told that this is a loophole in the system through which the company is making money in the name of membership which no other company charges. Also, as the numbers are about to be transferred to post paid from pre paid the recharged amount of rs.197/- against each number will be forfeited by the company and if i need any further clarifications i may contact the reliance jio grievance cell at number 198.in fact when i called up the number 198, i was surprised to hear that if a number is transferred to post paid from pre paid the money in the account is forfeited by the company instead of adjustment which is nothing but, cheating subscribers of their legitimate money against which the company claims and agrees to provide services. Hence, i come to you seeking justice wherein i am forced to pay twice an illogical payment of rs.99/- termed as membership which is itself questionable. Moreover, if i transfer my number from pre paid to post paid within the same company how can my money can be forfeited instead of adjusted as this is cheating taking opportunity of every situation to rob the subscribers.
