RTO India — Wrong challan for opposite side driving on the service road.
Today on 01.11.2021 I the Traffic police has wrongly levied fine/issued challan at the service road near the Best colony, ghatkopar east, ( parallel to eastern express high way) . The service road is for the convenient to the Best Colony people to reach pantNagar through a connecting service road, over the Nalla. This service road is used by common public for almost 4-5 years because it is the shortest and convenient road way to reach pantnagar. All vehicle use the service road from both direction. I have noticed BMC garbage/waste collecting trucks regularly parked on the opposite direction since many months. Even today 4 trucks were parked. If any legal order is implemented it should be done by giving a notice. There is no sign board of "one way" on either side of the nallah crossing. There is no sign board of "timing for using the road on both side". The police is standing on the south side corner of the road and enabling the vehicle to pass from North side towards south side so as to cut the challan without informing the vehicle driver (just clicking photos of vehicle). When I enquired about the challan, the police officer told me to go. However, when I reached vikroli stn I received sms of Fine of Rs.1000/- (Challan No. MUMCM[protected]) . While returning back I enquired with the police officer who informed that it is order from higher authority we cannot clarify. He advised to lodge complaint with RTO and with MMRD. Hence, I am lodging this complaint. It would be advisable to put up a sign board of "One Way Only" or "time to travel from both side" at the North end side so that vehicle may avoid using the service road. A simple steps if taken by RTO will help and prevent harassment to public in general. As a senior citizen and as Lawyer I wish the laws are implemented in its proper spirit with prior information and by following proper procedure. In view of the above, please treat this as a suggestion cum complaint, and request you to cancell the Challan issued as mentioned above under advice to me. Your prompt action will be highly appreciable. Was this information helpful?
