I am beyond frustrated and furious with Samsung right now.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360, treated it like a fragile glass vase—never dropped it, never bumped it, never placed anything heavy on it, kept it on a desk in a padded sleeve.
Out of nowhere, I opened the laptop and heard a subtle crack. A hairline crack immediately ran across the screen. Within a short time, it spread further. The laptop has zero signs of impact, dents, or accidental drop damage.
When I reached out to Samsung Customer Service, I expected them to honor the 1-year warranty for what is clearly a manufacturing design defect.
Instead, customer care gave me the standard blanket response:
"Physical screen damage is not covered under the limited warranty."
They completely refused to hear that the screen cracked on its own due to thermal expansion or chassis flex in their ultra-thin display housing. They immediately blamed ME, claiming it must have been "user misuse" or "accidental damage, " and quoted hundreds of dollars for a display replacement.
This is NOT an isolated incident!
A quick search on Reddit, Best Buy reviews, and tech community forums reveals thousands of identical reports across the Galaxy Book Pro 360 series:
Ultra-thin glass combined with heat build-up and chassis flexing causes spontaneous hairline cracks.
Customer support repeatedly claims "we've never heard of this issue" while denying warranty claims across the board.
Customers are being forced to pay out-of-pocket for a known design flaw or buy expensive add-on insurance just to fix Samsung's mistake.
Samsung needs to take responsibility. Selling a premium $1, 500+ flagship 2-in-1 laptop with an ultra-fragile display, then blaming loyal customers when it fractures under normal everyday usage, is completely unacceptable.
Has anyone successfully escalated this to the Office of the President or legal consumer affairs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
